BEST FISHING
There are three lakes in the Branson area.
In fact, that is how this all started. People came to the lakes
to fish but ran out of things to do after dark, so they would join
in with local folks and do some pickin' and singin' about the fire
or at a local house or local business. The entertainment continued
to grow and has now outgrown the popularity of fishing.
The biggest and highest lake is Table Rock,
which is where the Branson Belle showboat is located. The fishing
there is always good for Bass and Croppy. The water on the surface
is warm during the summer months. The outflow is released through
the electrical generating turbines at the bottom of the lake. This
water is very cold, even in the summer, so the water in Lake Taneycomo
provides a good place for trout.
There is a large fish hatchery located at
the head of Lake Taneycomo for the purpose to make sure there is
plenty of trout in the lake. Some of the trout have been known to
shun the usual angler and grown to be over 20 pounds. Several were
caught each year we have been here. I have not been one to have
caught such giants, however.
Just below Lake Taneycomo, rests another
lake known as Bull Shoals. This is a warm water lake which contains
Walleye, Stripe and Big Mouth Bass and large catfish.
Let us know, we can be helpful in arranging
for some fishing.
