Here is an idea I have for payment terms when marketing our SEO/SEM services...

Only $500 to get started..

This will include services outlined in our SEO process page for the best landing pages on the site. (We make very little money upfront for our services)

We have a 1-year contract where our payment is based on performance.

The contract includes a minimum $100/mo fee for a Google adwords campaign ($100/mo minimum campaign required) setup and maintenance and WebPros Reports. All additional ongoing SEO/SEM work is free - WebPros taking the risk.*If they want to increase their Google campaign amount, each dollar above $100/mo will subtract 1 Unique visitor from the goal amount.. Ex: if they do a $200/mo GA campaign, then our first goal would be 200 UV/mo instead of 100.. Our next goal to shoot for would be 300 (not 400) would still be 100 doubled + 100.. Just adds 100 to our goal each time, since GA only generates pretty much just the visits you are willing to pay for. We will explain that our main purpose for Google adwords is to help with keyword discovery and analysis, that will need to be refined over the length of the contract.

WebPros gets paid according to performance results based on average monthly visitors. We take their avg month's stats (unique visitors/mo) from the last 3 months of their stats as the starting base (if a brand new site with no stats then first goal will be when 100 unique visitors/mo is achieved). When first goal is met (either 100 UV/mo for new sites or double their base) we are owed $1,000. Everytime we double our goal, we are owed another $1,000. If we quadruple our goal in a one-month period then we are owed $2,000, etc. Our next performance goal is always based on a comparison to the last goal that was met..

When a goal is reached the client has the choice to pay the full amount or have it added to his/her monthly payments, spread out over the remaining months.

If stats drop down to a goal under the last one achieved, then WebPros will owe back a $500 refund.

After thinking some more.. This model would work for brand new sites and probably sites generating less than 1000 UV/mo.. Would need to come up with a tier model.. Another tier could work on a perpetual 50% exponential increase. If a site is already generating 1000 UV/mo.. then the next goal would require a 50% increase, instead of double.. For example, our first goal would be 1500 UV/mo, next goal would be 2,250 UV/mo, 3rd goal would be 3,375 UV/mo, and so forth.
